RF INTEGRATED ASSEMBLIES

Microphase engineers have the know how to design advanced integrated assemblies and sub-systems to incorporate the latest component technology. Microphase offers a base line of integrated assemblies for subsystems, which can be modified for your use. The broad capability in components has naturally put Microphase into the field of component integration. By integrating our own devices with other microwave hardware, we engineer substantial space savings, and since we are in the control of all interfaces, we can offer better overall performance. This internal unit has specialized engineering capabilities to provide the optimum performance in modern subassembly hardware.

Microphase will look at the total subsystem base on your specification. The internal availability of components also minimizes cycle time when unique performance requirements are necessary. Microphase can design your analog front-end requirement.


SG 1000 Converter
The Microphase SG 1000 Converter is used in an S band Doppler weather radar to provide a very high dynamic range linear phase conversion from the RF operating frequency of 2.7 to 3.0 GHz to the 60 MHz IF frequency. Sample ports are provided on the RF, LO and IF signal lines. Isolators are included to maintain low VSWR. Internal voltage regulation is used for stability and external noise immunity.

ADVANTAGES: The Microphase-designed and engineered SG1000 Converter provides a low noise, low VSWR, high dynamic range linear phase conversion from RF to IF frequencies. It features excellent electrical performance, environmental stability and high reliability. It is fully productized in a sealed housing, 100% tested and readily available, yet still cost effective.

Up and Down Converters
The Microphase Down-Converter is used with the companion Up-Converter in a radar simulator to provide a Doppler frequency shift for a simulated Ku band radar return. An internal frequency doubler is used for the LO to allow a VHF synthesizer to generate the required LO frequency. Both the doubled LO and RF signals are selectively filtered to provide a wide dynamic range spurious free conversion with low intermodulation distortion.

ADVANTAGES: The Microphase-designed and engineered Up and Down converters provide a low loss, low VSWR, high dynamic range conversion from RF to IF frequencies. They feature excellent electrical performance, environmental stability and high reliability. When used together, they provide a wide dynamic range spurious free Doppler frequency shift over a 1 GHz input band. They are fully productized in sealed housings, 100% tested, yet still cost effective.


Up and Down Converters

Solid State Switch Models – SM- Series SPMT
The Microphase SM-Series SPMT broadband, multi-throw, solid state switch modules, with integral drivers are suited for microwave systems and sub assemblies where a number of components are integrated. Typical applications include high-speed channel selection and pulse modulation. Wideband performance of these switching networks is due to the lumped element bias structures with passivated PIN diodes. An important feature on the SM-Series is that the RF portion of the unit is integrated with a buffered TTL driver assuring true TTL compatibility.

ADVANTAGES: SM Series switches can be conveniently mounted in any 50-Ohm microstrip, stripline or coaxial configuration. The internal layout of these devices is such that filters and limiters may be incorporated within the modules. Other options, such as higher isolation or lower insertion loss, as well as alternate voltage or logic requirements may be specified. These switches are conservatively rated, are hermetically sealed and offer high reliability in a rugged, compact package.

Telemetry Transmitter
The Microphase Dual Channel Telemetry Transmitter is designed for use in the Patriot Missile. The Microphase designed and engineered Telemetry Transmitter is built to IRG-106-96 standards, is rugged zed for extreme environmental conditions and has a frequency stability of ±20 ppm over all environmental conditions. This compact and very rugged unit can be adapted to custom configurations.
